Adding pictures to your posts - Updated 09 March 2017
« on: September 30, 2013, 02:19:57 PM »
There are a few different options if you want to attach pictures in your post.

Locally Hosted

  • Easiest Way

If you want the image saved to the post itself, you can use the "Attachments and other options" area beneath the message text box.

Maximum attachment size is 1.5 MB (1536 KB).

Post your image in the Gallery
    • Recommended Way

Upload your images to the  [You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login] , then copy the BB Code in the  Image Linking Codes section.

The BBC code will create a thumbnail which can be expanded to view a larger image.
      Example: [url=http://myscct.com/gallery/7914_20_11_13_5_43_59.jpeg][img]http://myscct.com/gallery/thumb_7914_20_11_13_5_43_59.jpeg[/img][/url]

[You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login]  Click the picture.  Pretty cool huh?

The Direct link is a text link to the picture in the gallery which will open in a new window.
Example:  [You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login]

The Html code link will give you an html link that can be used on certain websites.
      Example: <img src="http://myscct.com/gallery/7914_20_11_13_5_43_59.jpeg" />

Maximum attachment size is 1.5 MB (1536 KB).

    Offsite Hosting

    • You can use any other image hosting service that gives you codes or links for your images (Imgur, Photobucket, Flickr, etc...) and insert them into your post.
    • If you want to post a larger higher resolution picture than we currently support, you can use the postimg.org image hosting option.

[You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login]
Use the "Add image to post" link above the text area and you can upload any size pic you want.

[You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login]
Browse to the image on your computer/device, choose your resolution if a resize is necessary, indicate if it is a family safe image, and select "Upload it!".
The window will close, and the link for the offsite picture will be inserted into your post.

*WARNING* There will be advertisements.  And if you don't choose the family safe image option the advertisements can be "adult" in nature.  If the advertisements bother you, the  [You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login]  plugin works great on all major browsers, and you'll say to yourself "What advertisements?"  To be honest, if you don't already use this plugin there might be something wrong with you.

Effective immediately, the postimg.org plugin has been disable because of issues with myscct page loading speed while it was active on certain networks.

Please locally host using attachments or add to gallery as shown above, or use the codes generated on other image hosting sites to embed even larger pictures. These may be referred to as bbc or forum codes depending on the provider.
